Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff, the recipients of the very first Grammy for Best Rap Performance, are reuniting for an extensive tour almost two decades later. Smith said in a recent radio interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 that he and Jazzy Jeff were never able to tour longer than a week or two with one another because of their busy schedules.
It has now been officially confirmed that he will be heading out on tour with Jazzy Jeff in 2016, telling Ellen DeGeneres he wants to “get out there and do it for real.”
Smith found himself back in the news promoting himself as a musician last month after making a vocal appearance on the remix of Colombian band Bomba Estereo’s song “Fiesta.” Smith is scheduled to perform with the group at the Latin Grammy Awards on Nov. 19.
