Opening Doors: Journalism ensures New York City’s underserved communities have expanded access to educational and other content of direct benefit to them.

Inspired by the vision of Amsterdam News Educational Foundation’s founder Wilbert “Bill” Tatum, whose goal was to have such understanding be explored and explained for the general public by journalists.

This program also strives to encourage journalists to understand and explore communities different from those in which they normally work.
