Last week, Diane Senerchia, executive director of Northfield Bank Foundation, visited the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County to meet with teens and present an award for $10,000 to support their expanded Career Launch initiative. Northfield Bank Foundation supports nonprofit organizations operating in communities where Northfield Bank does business.
“We are thrilled to have Northfield Bank Foundation as a partner and supporter of this important initiative,” stated CEO Russell Triolo. “Our expanded Career Launch program will provide our teens with resources and access to tools that will give them an advantage as they enter college and, ultimately, the workforce.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County offer Career Launch as part of their teen programs. The resource center assists teens with resumes, college entrance applications and essays, as well as information on colleges and career mentors.
The Northfield Bank Foundation focuses its efforts on projects to support education, health and human services, youth programs and civic-minded projects.
The donation comes on the heels of a blood drive and cholesterol screening hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County in collaboration with the Blood Center of New Jersey at the Union Club, 1050 Jeanette Ave. in Union, N.J.
“We were pleased to have worked in collaboration with the Blood Center of New Jersey for this important activity,” stated Triolo. “We are happy to support this worthy effort for our blood supply. We have a long standing relationship with the Blood Center of New Jersey and look forward to working with them to host blood drives throughout the year at our club.”
