The city’s COVID hotline (212-268-4319) is available to help find free PCR testing and at-home testing kits. New Yorkers can make an appointment to get free PCR testing at one of the city health department’s express sites, or pick up at-home testing kits at the nearest NYC Health + Hospitals and Gotham Health center.

Antiviral medications

Antiviral medications are an important tool to help you fight COVID-19 and are available for free or very low cost. You can call 212-COVID19 (212-268-4319) to speak to a health and hospital provider who can send a prescription to a pharmacy that will allow the medication to be picked up or delivered to your home.

New Yorkers 65 and over or those who are homebound can request a visit to their home to receive the updated COVID-19 vaccine booster. Types of information needed to apply include:

An official death certificate that attributes the death directly or indirectly to COVID-19 and shows that the death occurred in the United States, including the U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.

Funeral expenses documents (receipts, funeral home contract, etc.) that includes the applicant’s name, the deceased person’s name, the amount of funeral expenses, and the dates the funeral expenses happened.

Proof of funds received from other sources specifically for use toward funeral costs. We are not able to duplicate benefits received from burial or funeral insurance, financial assistance received from voluntary agencies, government agencies, or other sources.
