As summer arrives, many fraternities and sororities pause some chapter activities and events, but the mission-driven work of Divine Nine organizations does not take a vacation. Members worldwide are building on enduring legacies steeped in service, social action, scholarship, brotherhood, and sisterhood.
With your insights and input, we will continue publishing the stories of members and Black Greek Letter organizations that are uplifting communities while making great strides in a range of industries. Leaders at the New York Amsterdam News established the Divine Nine News column to highlight distinguished leaders and members of Black Greek Letter Fraternities and Sororities. Society can bank on their brilliance to tackle a range of challenging issues.

One column focused on economic justice through the leadership lens of Dr. Stacie NC Grant, international president and CEO of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Lucien J. Metellus, Jr., general president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., penned a column that highlighted how his fraternity has developed leaders, scholars, and responsible citizens since 1906.

Other stories covered mayoral debates, voter registration drives, and social justice forums by D9 Harlem Votes. Joetta, a four-timeime Olympian and entrepreneur, expressed her passion for health, wellness, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., while Dr. Ainsley A. Reynolds wrote about his personal experiences, professional path, and journey to becoming general treasurer of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
