Ariamcha was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She attended Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia for English Literature and Communications, before moving back home for grad school. She graduated from Newark (CUNY) J-School in 2018. She studied audio, arts, and culture reporting and photography. Since then she’s worked for Heritage Radio Network, WNYC, Brooklyn Reporter/Eagle, PoliticsNY (formerly Kings County Politics), and now Amsterdam News. She is a Report for America Corps Member and was also a Poynter-Koch Journalism Fellow for 2020-21. Her favorite hobbies are running, traveling, and painting or hanging out with her family in her spare time.
