In This Moment made a special stop along their tour to perform an exclusive acoustic set at Fontana’s in NYC on May 5 for MTV2, 30 lucky winners and the media at the official runway launch party of the new heavy metal clothing line, Metal Couture. The show was hot!

Metal Couture, an edgy-inspired clothing line, first hit the fashion scene twisting together a love of high fashion and heavy music. In 2000, they designed custom-cut band T-shirts for a variety of acts on the local NYC metal scene. The inspiration for their men’s line came when Lead Luminous (lead singer of NYC rock artists The Burn & Cry) expressed interest in bringing a metal edge to his golf attire after playing a round with Testament’s Chuck Billy.

Designing for the traditionally conservative venue of golfing and others like it sparked the idea of bringing a heavy metal fashion edge into these uncharted realms of everyday society. Metal Couture carries women’s dresses, tanks and tees. They also produce children’s clothes and dog apparel.

“Talk about sexy clothes, good music and beautiful people,” it was all there. “The classic formula for the ultimate rock and roll party,” said Jennifer Thiele, Playboy. “Allison Roberto of Metal Couture proved that not only does she make one of the hottest clothing lines out there, but she can throw one hell of a party, too.”

This was no ordinary runway show. It was a rock and roll lifestyle event, complete with burlesque acts by the Main Attraction, musical performances, gorgeous tattooed models and well-known personalities. The show went off without a hitch in the packed chandeliered room of Fontana’s.

“Metal Couture took everything you think you know about fashion and fashion shows and subverted it, giving it an edge by showcasing tattoos, heavy eyeliner and custom-cut rock tees, making metal fashion forward and fabulous with- out blunting any of the scene’s uniqueness,” said Amy Sciarretto, Hit Parade magazine.

Hosted by Jose Mangin, the host of Sirius XM’s “Liquid Metal,” the bash featured Anne Lindfield, Jason Wood, Paul Zurlo, M. Lazar and more stars on the runway. The Burn & Cry closed the show with a powerful performance, including songs from their latest album and a sick rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” sung by the awe-inspiring Dana Fuchs.
