Harlem Week has a long list of festivities, but one in particular, the New York City Children’s Festival, targets Harlem’s youngest members. On Aug. 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., thousands of families will be able to participate in a long list of activities.
The festival is a two-day event with an emphasis on healthy eating, while also providing families the opportunity to participate in exciting and educational activities such as a petting zoo, face painting, storytelling, fashion shows, food sampling and many more.
The event will highlight asthma, diabetes, education, dietary health and health testing. Harlem Week understands the dire need to keep our youth healthy and active-with the rise of childhood obesity and diabetes, events such as this help raise awareness to save our children.
The festival is a free event, so all families should come get educated on healthy living for their children. Children can also learn how to take better care of themselves so they can grow up to be fit and healthy.
This a fun way to spend time with your children and get educated. Come and support Harlem Week and the children. The New York City Children’s Festival will be held on 135th Street between Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. boulevards.
