Having multiple jobs and two new babies didn’t stop Nick Cannon from hopping on his private jet and heading down to Atlanta on Friday, 11/11/11 to cheer on his good buddy Kenan Thompson as the “Saturday Night Live” cast member married Christina Evangeline Polito in the Arctic Ballroom of the Georgia Aquarium. Sans his wife, Mariah Carey, Cannon danced with his mom, toasted the bride and groom and worked the DJ booth all night before boarding his plane and being whisked back home to New York City.

Although Floyd Mayweather Jr. told numerous media outlets that he offered to pay for Joe Frazier’s funeral, which took place in Philadelphia on Nov. 14, my sources tell me it was actually boxing champion Bernard Hopkins who covered the costs of the services. Hopkins was a speaker along with the Rev. Jesse Jackson at the services, which were attended by boxing greats such as Muhammad Ali, Michael Spinks and Larry Holmes.

On Nov. 11, Monami Entertainment and Bartenura Wines hosted a private dinner and screening in New York City for season two of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop.” Cast members in the house included Chrissy Lampkin, Olivia Longett, Jim Jones and Rich Dollaz. Said executive producer Mona Scott-Young, “This season will bring you closer into the lives of the cast in a way that will keep you glued to the TV. Trust me!”

Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, N.Y., announced that a private funeral for music legend Heavy D will take place on Friday, Nov. 18, with Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson delivering the eulogy. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Heavy D and Xea Myers Fund, care of JP Morgan Chase, 726 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10085.

Grammy-nominated singer Freddie Jackson is adding the title of “actor” to his credits. He will be playing the role of Rev. Bolden in the touring production of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” at Newark Symphony Hall on Dec. 16 and 17 and Harlem’s Apollo Theater on Dec. 18. It also stars Shirley Murdock, Samson Logan and Lisa Page Brooks. Jackson, currently on the “Men of Soul Tour,” continues as a solo artist to play to sold-out houses in the United States and around the world.
