Nelson Mandela is a South African revolutionary and politician who served 27 years in prison for inciting a rebellion and then became the first Black President of South African from 1994 to 1999.

Now, his granddaughters, Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway and Swati Dlamini, have attempt to make their mark with a reality show about their lives in South Africa titled “Beling Mandela”. The first season, which is 13 episodes, follows Swati and Zaziwe as they launch their own clothing line, Long Walk to Freedom, the same name as their grandfather’s autobiography.

Some people feel the show will tarnish the Mandela family name but Swati and Zaziwe insist that they have no intentions of doing so. According to an article from the Associated Press, Swati said that Nelson Mandela will not be appearing in the show although their mother, Nelson Mandela’s ex-wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela will.

“Being Mandela” aired Sunday, February 17th, on NBC’s Cozi TV.
