There is no experience in this world like Cadillac in the Hamptons. I spent the weekend of July 26-29 living a champagne and caviar dream life as a guest of the luxury automotive brand.

The trip kicked off with lunch at STK in New York City. After lunch, our media group, which included my new best friend Zondra Hughes, as well as Yoselin Acevedo, Cloves Campbell, Paul Cheung, Mitzi Miller, Christen Rochon, Geneva Thomas and Sekou Writes, headed out to the Hamptons in style in Cadillac ATS vehicles.

Our main event for the weekend was Russell Simmons’ 14th annual Art For Life gala. Cadillac sponsored a table and provided courtesy vehicles for the evening. The highlight of the fabulous soiree was me getting to hold Tyler Perry’s hand. He is always very kind to me whenever our paths cross. I was determined to get my ATS crew a chance to be photographed with the movie mogul, who was one of the evening’s honorees. So I led them up to the stage as Perry was leaving. People swarmed him to get a picture. He saw me and motioned for me to come through. However, the security told me to go the other way. That’s when Perry grabbed my hand, and then I grabbed GM Communications executive Jocelyn Allen’s hand, who was our host for the weekend, and Perry said: “Let’s move out of this area.” We did, and he posed for the picture with us. I love Tyler Perry! We also attended the fourth annual Diversity Affluence brunch on Sunday at B. Smith.

The event is free and all are welcome.

A handful of chicsters made their way to the Big Apple on July 29 for the premiere of “2 Guns,” which stars Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg and Paula Patton. Washington and his wife, Pauletta, were all smiles on the red carpet. Patton, who was accompanied by her husband, “Blurred Lines” crooner Robin Thicke, was stunning in a dress by Basil Soda that boasted a plunging neckline. “2 Guns” hits movie theaters on Aug. 2.

While Nelly was performing in Cleveland, Ohio, he brought a very special guest star up on stage with him. Joining the rapper was Amanda Berry, one of the three women who had been kidnapped and held in a basement for 10 years in a highly publicized case. Berry’s kidnapper, Ariel Castro, was sentenced the day before to life in prison with no chance of parole.

Former ESPN executive Keith Clinkscales has signed on as CEO of Revolt TV, the upcoming cable network targeted to urban millenials. Sean “Diddy” Combs told reporters at the Television Critics Association of the venture: “My mission is to bring kids back to television [with a music channel that’s] looking for greatness … there are other places artists will get great exposure, but when you make it to Revolt, you will feel you’ve been authorized.” The network launches in late October.
