Who doesn’t love cheese? Really, there are too many varieties for both those who are lactose intolerant (goat, sheep) and everyone else. Therefore there would be no reason to say no to an invitation by the good folks of Murray’s Cheese Bar (@MurraysCheezBar, 264 Bleeker St., 646-476-8882, www.murrayscheesebar.com) for lunch to sample their fall menu. Murray’s is a New York City institution! I am happy to say yes!

Cavemaster Reserve Other Stephen (cheese)

Served with a cocktail vermouth, mole bitters, orange and Antoinette cider

Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad

Featuring Isabella gouda, apple, pecans and kale

Mushroom Toast

Hen of the woods, oyster and chicken mushrooms with Madiera and rabbit mousse

Monger’s Table (part of a 6-course tasting menu)

Cheese “sushi” featuring St. Maure goat cheese with ash vinaigrette and green bean wasabi

Mac N Cheese

Featuring Idiazabal cheese with duck confit and crispy duck skin

Fried Chicken

Brined in cheese whey with kimchi labneh, blue cheese and kohlrabi slaw

With Niepoort 10-year tawny port
