The fourth annual Harlem EatUp! festival is officially in the books! Although Ms. Mother Nature tried to have a moment this past weekend with rain and threats of lightning storms, Harlem showed up and all the way out in Morningside Park. The food and drink were still flowing and the fun broke the sound barrier.

The week started with the Dine In series. I attended Wednesday’s dinner at Clay when chef Gustavo Lopez welcomed guest chef Leah Cohen of Pig & Khao. They threw it down with a mostly seafood menu. My bonus was dining with Bordeaux Wine Council’s Mary Gorman-McAdams. She along with the sommelier of evening gave great insight to the paired wines. I couldn’t get enough of that Cab Franc.

I also attended the annual Luminary Dinner at Ginny’s with chefs Marcus Samuelsson, Geoffrey Zakarian and Adrienne Cheatham. Bevy Smith and Dapper Dan were honored this year and the Rakiem Walker Project had us dancing through the night. The post-Dine-Ins after-party ensued with a collection of chefs arriving to raise a glass to the event.

And this weekend? Harlem did that to the max! The rain fashion was out and proud and guests sipped and tasted foods from all over Harlem. Check this photo collective of a dynamite time at Harlem EatUp! 2018!
