Pulitzer Prize-winning MSNBC reporter Trymaine Lee earned his first Emmy Award for his coverage of gun violence in Chicago.
Lee received the honor Monday at the 39th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. Winning in the Outstanding News Discussion and Analysis category, Lee was recognized for his reporting for the documentary “All in America: Chicago.” The hourlong documentary featured a town hall meeting, a panel discussion and interviews with Black residents in South Chicago.
Lee became a correspondent for MSNBC earlier this year. He made the move after serving as a national reporter contributing online and on air for NBC News and MSNBC digital. Before working at MSNBC, he worked for The New York Times, the Huffington Post, The Times-Picayune and the Philadelphia Tribune.
