As the winter season begins, snow shovelers are needed to dig out the Big Apple.
The city is hiring temporary snow laborers to clear away snow. Interested workers can register at any sanitation garage from Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The pay to shovel snow is $15 an hour and increases to $22.50 per hour after a shoveler works 40 hours a week.
To register you must be at least 18 years of age, eligible to work in the United States and able to perform heavy physical labor.
Registrants must bring two small photos (1.5 inch square) similar to those used for a passport, Social Security card and a photocopy of the card and two original documents that prove identity and employment eligibility. You must also provide photocopies of documents such as driver’s license, passport or school photo ID.
