The Rotary Club of Harlem recently hosted its fundraiser gala at the National Black Theater commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance. The black-tie event featured singers and dancers. Saxophonist Tyrone Benjamin and swing dancer Samuel Coleman were among the performers. Honorees at the event were Harlem Community Development Corporation President Curtis Archer and Ted Swartwood, regional manager NY/NJ of The Outreach Program. The Rotary Club of Harlem was chartered in 1966 and is a community-based charter member of Rotary International. The organization recently held a job fair at Riverbank State Park.
