If like us, you have been receiving emails asking whether you think Trump is guilty of crimes, we hope your response is like ours: do bears crap in the forest? Not only is he guilty as charged, he should be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, to echo even some of his cohort.
One such prominent Republican voice has zeroed in on the issue, dismissing his claims of “fake news” and lies, insisting he is polluting our democratic process. We quote here Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and agree with her that the 2020 presidential election was not stolen and “anyone who claims it was is spreading The Big Lie, turning back on the rule of law, and poisoning the democratic system.”
The Big lie she references is Trump’s response that President Biden’s victory was “the big lie.” In our opinion there are few bigger liars than Trump and we are sorry to lend space here again to his ignorance and arrogance, but such is the nature of the beast that continues to haunt us. His apparition also appeared the other day when Rudy Giuliani, his personal attorney, had his home and office raided by the FBI. Is this a harbinger, a reckoning that Trump’s inner circle has been squared, and that associates once loyal may now become turncoats?
One of the good things about the recent polls about Trump’s guilt or not, is that at the moment it has nothing to do with an election campaign. Even so, there is no guarantee we have seen, heard or experienced the last of his vitriol or viciousness.
Will Giuliani spill the beans, and be forthcoming on his various shenanigans, particularly on the international front?
We loved Raoul Peck’s latest documentary “Exterminate All the Brutes” aired on HBO and HBO Max, although we missed the fourth and last segment that focused on fascism. We hope he included Trump in the series because he would fit perfectly within the theme of the last part.
And nothing would please us more than to see Giuliani and the other associates confess their misdeeds and incriminate the ring leader. That would at least pick up where Liz Cheney has left off.
