New York City was on fire recently when music icon Robert “Kool” Bell of Kool & The Gang celebrated his 75th birthday at the posh Lobster Club in Midtown Manhattan. Kool’s sister-in-law, Tia Sinclair, hosted the festivities. Guests included actress/songstress/comedienne Penwah (one of Kool & The Gang’s original female singers), along with the legendary Valerie Simpson, Flavor Flav, and Tommy Davidson. Self-proclaimed “Love King” Raheem DeVaughn launched his “A Lesson of Love” tour on October 12 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Grammy-winning crooner/songwriter’s tour will hit cities including Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia and more, before ending in Augusta, Georgia on January 31, 2026. Said DeVaughn, “With this tour, I want to create a space where people can not only celebrate love, but also learn, grow and heal through it.” …….

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures hosted the fifth annual gala at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on October 18 that raised over $12 million in donations, according to Variety. Co-chairs for the evening included Oscar winners Viola Davis, Common, and Jennifer Hudson. Other attendees included Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, Damson Idris and “The Bear” actress Ayo Edebiri, who slayed in a dress by Chanel. …..
