Rapper and actor Anthony Criss, better known as Treach from influential hip-hop group Naughty by Nature, celebrated his 55th birthday with an appearance at Salsa Con Fuego on December 11. The New Jersey native artist appeared as part of the Celebrity R&B afterwork series at the Bronx nightclub, which has in the past featured stars like Honey Bxby, Jim Jones, and Funk Flex, offering attendees a rare opportunity to party alongside cultural icons of R&B, hip-hop and beyond.

Treach made waves with Naughty by Nature in the early 1990s, producing hits like “O.P.P.” and “Hip-Hop-Hooray,” the latter of which was accompanied by a music video directed by Spike Lee. The group, led by Treach and featuring Vin Rock, and DJ Kay Gee, were awarded a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 1995 upon the release of “Poverty’s Paradise.” Treach would continue to find success as an actor, landing roles in CSI, Juice, and the Meteor Man.
