Policymakers, legal professionals, advocates, educators, and mental health professionals, as well as those directly affected by the criminal justice system, will join the United Justice Coalition and RocNation for the UJC Summit on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Now in its fourth year, this all-day free summit, at the Shed in Hudson Yards, brings together thousands of attendees in an attempt to identify effective decisions in combating the challenges of the legal system.

“The UJC Summit is a space for everyone who believes our criminal legal system can and must be better,” said Dana Diaz, founder of the UJC and managing director of philanthropy at RocNation. “Students, elected officials, national and community leaders, policymakers, and creatives will all be in the same room, united by a shared commitment to change. It is free and open to the public so that everyone can be part of the conversations and solutions.”

With panel discussions, spotlighted conversations, and a chance to connect with organizations from across the country, attendees will gain insights into the issues affecting our communities and concrete ways to drive change.

Scheduled speakers this year include political strategist Angela Rye; radio host Charlamagne Tha God; MSNow host Ari Melber; academic scholar and author Michael Eric Dyson; and author and Columbia Journalism School Dean Jelani Cobb, among numerous others. Representatives of organizations such as the Center for Policing Equity, Right On Crime, Legal Aid Society, and Youth Justice Network will also be in attendance.

“Nearly 40 voices will be on stage, discussing alternatives to incarceration, mental health, the power of education, police violence and accountability, safer supervision, women in our carceral system, and more,” Diaz said. Roc Nation’s philanthropic team started the United Justice Coalition in 2019 as a think tank of individuals dedicated to sharing resources, information, and ideas to advance justice in the United States.

The 2026 UJC Summit doors will open at 10 a.m. ET at the Shed in New York City. The event is free and open to the public. Additional information and registration details are available at www.unitedjusticecoalition.com.
