The National Action Network’s Health and Wellness Committee, led by the Rev. Al Sharpton, will host its second annual Community Health Fair on Saturday, Sept. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. on West 143rd Street between Lenox and Fifth avenues on the side street of Colonel Charles Young Park. In case of rain, the fair will be relocated to 106 W. 145th St.
The fair will offer activities, entertainment and information for all members of the community, including voter registration information, a live DJ, performers and free health screenings for asthma, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), cholesterol, vision and glucose as well as information about family planning, HIV testing and smoking cessation. The fair will also feature activities exclusively for children, including crowns, face painting, rides, free popcorn and ices.
