On June 24, New York City School Chancellor Dennis Walcott announced the beginning of the annual free summer meal programs in New York City. The free breakfast and lunch is for those under 18 years of age. The meals are available at public schools, soup kitchens, libraries, public housing developments and pools. Breakfast is available from 8 a.m to 9:15 a.m. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The free summer meal program begins June 28. For more information, call 311 or text “NYCMeals” to 877-877.
