Julien’s Auctions, in Beverly Hills, California, announces the auction of country music star, Naomi Judd’s, costumes and personal items, scheduled for Nov. 7 and 8, at the Julien’s Auctions gallery. Julien’s is the world’s premier entertainment and music memorabilia auction house, and Judd is an award-winning singer‑songwriter.

The collection will include a vast amount of custom-made costumes and stage-worn clothing from the career of Judd, along with personal items from the star’s own collection and items from husband Larry Strickland’s musical career with Elvis Presley. A portion of the proceeds from this auction will benefit charity.

Judd’s story is a heartwarming rags-to-riches tale of perseverance and positive thinking. The single mom and registered nurse from small-town Kentucky captured the hearts of the world while performing with her daughter, Wynonna.

The stars have sold 20 million records, scored 15 No. 1 hits and received more than 60 industry awards. They have also received six Grammys and seven consecutive CMA Vocal Group of the Year trophies. Judd’s musical career and place in country music history is legendary. She has also charmed Hollywood and become a New York Times bestselling author with her popular autobiography “Love Can Build a Bridge.”

The book chronicled her life from a sheltered middle-class upbringing to survival as a single mother of two on the mountain tops of Kentucky, to her rise to superstardom and then forced retirement. The book also became the basis for a two-part NBC miniseries, in which daughter Ashley did voiceover narration as herself. Judd has also authored other books, including two children’s books.

Among the many items being offered, and certainly the most sentimental, is Judd’s wooden Thomas Model 217 “Norman Rockwell” 1920s-style replica radio from her personal collection. Before they hit it big in Nashville, Judd would listen to this radio with Wynonna and Ashley for entertainment in the hills of Kentucky. It is an unprecedented piece of country music memorabilia that had great importance to Judd and her family in the beginning of her career.

Costume highlights of the auction include a velvet gown Judd wore for her appearance on “Bob Hope’s Bag Full of Christmas Memories” (1993); a custom-made embellished ensemble Judd wore while accepting the top Vocal Duet Award at the 1991 Academy of Country Music Awards; and an iridescent turquoise sequined ensemble designed by designer Badgley Mishka, worn by Judd at the CMA Awards.

Many other items will be featured on the auction floor for this upcoming live event at Julien’s Auctions and will also be featured in an exclusive online auction to take place at julienslive.com, where you can register to participate in this auction.
