Saturday, Oct. 8 marks civil rights activist Jesse Jackson’s 75th birthday. He’s celebrating with several events at his headquarters in Chicago.

Festivities began Saturday morning with a breakfast for contractors, business owners, elected officials and labor leaders. The schedule also includes a special 90-minute international broadcast of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition’s weekly forum International Broadcast and a luncheon with educators, religious leaders and community activists.

Rev. Al Sharpton was among those who spoke at the breakfast in Chicago. Other attendees include gospel choirs, elected officials, community activists, clergy, celebrities, labor leaders and business owners.

Jackson is also hosting his annual “Keep Hope Alive” gala on Oct. 21 in honor of his birthday in Atlanta in partnership with the Citizenship Education Fund.

In early 2017, Jackson will be in New York for his his 20th Annual Rainbow PUSH Wall Street Project Economic Summit.
