NAN’s MLK Day 2023 marks exactly 60 years since Dr. King and other civil rights leaders organized the pivotal March on Washington in August 1963.
Earlier in the day, NAN will host its annual King Day breakfast in Washington, D.C. , The Dream Defined, co-chaired by Martin Luther King III and Tanya L. Lombard, Vice President, Global Public, and External Affairs, Head of Multicultural Strategic Initiatives at AT&T Services, Inc.
President Joe Biden will deliver the keynote address at the breakfast where Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Arndrea Waters King and other national leaders will be honored.
The events come as Loudmouth, the documentary on the life and legacy of Rev. Sharpton, will become available for rent or purchase on Amazon and Apple on Friday, Jan. 13. The feature-length film examines how Rev. Sharpton grew up through the King movement and used nonviolent demonstrations to call out racism in northern cities like New York.
