State Sen. Kevin Parker MLK Tribute Concert

Brooklyn State Sen. Kevig Parker is hosting the 19th Annual A Shared Dream Concert “The “Homecoming.” A free tribute concert in word, song, and dance to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King. The free concert will take place on Monday, Jan. 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Goshen Temple of Seventh-Day Adventists (2414-18 Church Avenue, Brooklyn).

United Black Clergy of Westchester Hosting Annual MLK Celebration

Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson, Senior Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY, and Chairman of the Conference of National Black Churches (CNBC), will join with the United Black Clergy of Westchester to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. The event will take place at Grace Baptist Church (52 South 6th Avenue).

Met Council to Host Annual MLK Day of Service to Benefit Halal Food Pantries

The Met Council on Jewish Poverty will host its annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. Held in partnership with UJA-Federation of New York, MLK Day is an opportunity to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by mobilizing hundreds of volunteers in support of New York’s most vulnerable communities. The service will take place at the Met Council’s Fulfillment Center (171 Lexington Avenue).

500 Men Making a Difference Hosting MLK Community Breakfast

500 Men Making a Difference is hosting their 13th Annual Community Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m Councilmember Charles Barron will serve as the keynote speaker. The free event will take place at New Hope Family Worship Center (817 Livonia Avenue, Brooklyn).

MLK Day of Financial Freedom

The Brooklyn Bank is hosting the MLK Day of Financial Freedom on Monday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 896 DeKalb Avenue. The event will feature a free day of learning about real estate, stock trading, taxes, credit and funding.

NOBLE New York Chapter Hosting Ecumenical Service

The New York Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) is hosting their Ecumenical Service on Monday, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College T.H. Auditorium (245 Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn).
