Take advantage of the many opportunities to see dance inside and outside all around NYC and beyond. For one afternoon only, July 18, at the David Rubenstein Atrium, see Christopher Núñez’s “The Ocean Keeps No Memory of the Lines” as part of Lincoln Center’s “Summer for the City” festival. In this newly commissioned work, part of a curated series by Jerron Herman, Núñez “deconstructs the ‘blue identity’ of the Americas, reimagining the blue passport from a travel document to a talisman of our shared history. Through the lens of his own dual nationality, Núñez pits the ocean’s boundless fluidity against the rigid borders of the State, exploring how we turn a divine gift of nature — color — into a border that divides our common humanity,” according to the release.
