Choices in Childbirth (CIC) is a New York City-based consumer advocacy organization that educates the public about women’s rights and options in childbirth. CIC publishes The New York Guide to a Healthy Birth, The Philadelphia Guide to a Healthy Birth and, on the national level, The Guide to a Healthy Birth. The guides provide families with the information they need to determine where, how and with whom to birth. The guides are free to the public and can be ordered from our website www.choicesinchildbirth.org.

The MFCI is a set of principles compiled by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) with the aim to define and help promote mother-friendly and evidence based maternity care.
