The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) is hosting the 25th annual Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprise Conference October 22-23 in Albany. The conference is slated as the largest statewide MWSBE procurement and networking event.

This year’s theme for the conference is “Expanding Opportunities…Making History” and is designed for construction contractors, construction managers, architects and engineers, commodity suppliers, financial services, legal and other professional service providers.

The conference will take place in two locations in Albany. A one-day conference will be held on Friday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn focusing on public finance, legal and financial services. The regular two-day conference will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Marriott focusing on construction.

Construction professionals will have access to more than 40 companies in the expo, including Turner Construction and Steelcase Inc. This year, workshops will have tips on navigating new public sector opportunities, MWBE legislation and joint ventures. More than 20 state agencies and authorities will also participate.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops and speed networking events targeted toward their business and development needs and meet with key decision-makers.

Journalist and CNN commentator and “Washington Watch” host Roland Martin will be the keynote speaker for the Friday dinner.

“DASNY is continuing its record of success in expanding its procurement of financial, legal and other professional service providers,” DASNY President Paul T. Williams, Jr. “Last year’s conference was attended by more than 850 professionals. We expect to set a new record this year.”
