It is stunning.Bronx State Senator Pedro Espada has done the unthinkable.
Standing around with various members of the Democratic Party, including former Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith, Espada announced that he’s reuniting with the Democrats and becoming the first Hispanic Senate Majority Leader in the history of New York State. This ends the turmoil that erupted in Albany over a month ago when Espada and Queens State Senator Hiram Monserrate jumped ship for the Republican Party. Espada said he’s ready to “restart this new engine.”
