R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo and his longtime gilrfriend, Monyetta Shaw, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Madelyn Grace Smith. The bundle of joy was due in January, but came into the world Friday, November 12 in an Atlanta hospital.

Said Ne-Yo: “I’ve been in love before, but this feels like nothing I’ve ever felt; like I’m in love for the first time.”

Ne-Yo reportedly was at a charity event for his foundation when he found out that Monyetta had gone into labor. The proud new papa was able to make it to the hospital to witness his daughter’s birth.

Academy Award-nominee Gabourey Sidibe was spotted dining at Sushi Samba in the Big Apple with pals. The “Precious” star was real personable and sampled a selection of signature rolls before finishing her dinner with a chocolate dessert. Yum.

Talk about going on with the show. No will ever be able to call opera diva Denyce Graves a quitter. While recently performing the role of Jane Seymour in the Dallas Opera’s “Anne Bolena,” the classical music diva suffered a miscarriage, but remained onstage for an important duet before rushing off for what the company’s artistic director called “a medical emergency.” According to the Dallas Morning News, Graves was expected to return to the role in Dallas for the opera’s two final shows after a brief rest at her Washington, D.C., home.

Tongues are wagging that Akon traveled in style in a Maserati to the second anniversary party of New York hotspot Greenhouse, which benefitted The Earth Organization.

Meanwhile, the first single from the new Michael Jackson album, “Michael,” was released on MichaelJackson.com. The song, “Hold My Hand,” features Akon, who returned to the studio recently to put the finishing touches on the track. The full album is due out December 14.

The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that my friend, reality queen Omarosa Manigault Stallworth, is not only living with Oscar nominee Michael Clarke Duncan, but that the couple is expecting. I ran into Omarosa the other week at the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Dinner and, while she told me that they would soon be getting officially engaged, she didn’t look pregnant nor mention it.

Meanwhile, Michael will be the honorary grand marshal at the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the Windy City. Congratulations to Omarosa and Michael, two very nice people.
