Bridal designer Dennis Basso signs new licensing deal (39672)

Just in time for New York’s Bridal Market Week, Dennis Basso has signed a licensing agreement with Kleinfeld Manhattan to provide his bridal collection will be exclusively for them. This is the first licensing agreement for both companies, though Kleinfeld has exclusive in-house collections and other partnerships and Basso has signature boutiques around the world.

Basso’s collection features 33 gowns, from unique yet classic ball gowns to less traditional sheaths, with a dress for every bride’s silhouette and personality. Using custom hand-beading, heavy embroidery and three-dimensional embellishments on satin, charmeuse and taffeta, the line is exquisite and retails for $2,500-$4,500.

Basso will also host trunk shows at Kleinfeld Manhattan and work one-on-one with brides to create special custom gowns, with prices starting at $6,000. His bridal gowns will hit the runway Oct. 11 for a private press show and will be available in-store on Oct. 19.

Basso has been dreaming of being a bridal designer since he was 7 years old. Decades of travel and experiences in the luxurious fashion world were the inspiration for his romantic and sophisticated collection.

“When I interacted with the clientele at Kleinfeld, I realized that every bride is a celebrity and the wedding is her ultimate red carpet moment,” noted Basso. No stranger to celebrity, Basso has created fashions for the likes of Naomi Campbell, Janet Jackson, Ivana Trump, Eva Longoria, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

Basso is one of the world’s leading fur and ready-to-wear designers. He founded his company in 1983. Basso’s bridal designs will be available at Kleinfeld Manhattan by appointment only.
