The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has launched a Facebook page. Thurgood Marshall was a man of ambition who proved success could occur for people of color. The fund was established in 1987 to commemorate his success and to provide intelligent and talented youth the opportunity to attend college.

The fund is one of the only organizations that awards merit scholarships. Representing 300,000 students, the fund has 47 member schools that are public historically Black colleges and universities and predominately Black institutions.

TMCF’s mission statement is “Changing the world, one leader at time.” The fund is always looking for bright young students and over the years has provided $100 million in scholarships.

The new Facebook page is available to any Facebook user. The page provides information about scholarships, upcoming events and deadlines for applications.

The page also provides basic information about the fund and photos. The Facebook wall allows member to write messages to the organization–students leave messages of thanks or inquiries.

Whether to support the organization or apply for scholarships, people should visit the fund’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ThurgoodMarshallCollegeFund. The fund also has an official website at www.thurgoodmarshallfund.net, and has a Twitter account and a Youtube page.
