New York City parks will soon bring Wi-Fi hotspots to a park near you. The commissioner of the department of information technology and telecommunications recently highlighted the city’s negotiations for a wide array of public benefits and services including the hotspots in city parks. AT&T will install 26 free hotspots around the city; Time Warner and Cablevision will provide the service in 32 locations at a cost of 99 cents a day after the first 30 minutes a month, or free to Time Warner and Cablevision customers.
