



The annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Gates will open at noon, but the activities will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Early arrivals will be able to play interactive games as well as watch the pros practice and go through their routines. The show inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium will begin at 1 p.m., but be warned, there is an admission fee to enter the grounds of Ashe Stadium.
Parents bringing their children should take advantage of the wonderful Arthur Ashe Learning Center, as well as the multitude of organized activities, including tennis lessons for kids of all ages.
Intermediate and advanced young players will be able to check out the speed of their services at the IBM Speed Zone test area. For youngsters seeking to learn how to play the game of tennis, staff will be on site to teach them how to hold the racket and other things needed to get them started to someday play at the U.S. Open.
Entertainment-wise, inside Ashe Stadium, La La Anthony, Carmelo’s wife, will perform. In addition to Anthony and his wife making an appearance, Bradley Cooper and Cody Simpson will take the stage, as will highly regarded artist Quddus.
Youngsters may get the opportunity to hit with defending U.S. Open champs Rafael Nadal and Kim Clijsters. Novak Djokovic, the world’s No. 1 player and the Wimbledon champ who is on a remarkable run, will hit inside the stadium.
