Memories: The 2010 Percy Sutton Harlem 5K NYC Family Health and Walk 2010 came and left, leaving behind memories of what so many had accomplished.
Young and old, the handicapped and senior citizens, when the gun went off, an army of people from all backgrounds and nationalities lifted their feet and began the Percy Sutton Harlem 5k march to the finish line.
Who won? Who scored the best time? It didn’t matter. Time was not of the essence. What was important is that they answered the call to begin taking charge of their health.
When the gun goes off on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, you can join all those walking and running for their health. You will be one who has answered the call from Lloyd Williams and his Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, along with Mary Wittenberg, president of the New York Road Runners. You will all be winners.
There will be no losers, as you join an army of senior citizens, little ones, teenagers and all the others. Let’s have a great event on Aug. 27. We’ll see you on the other side of 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.
