Harry Johnson Sr., head of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Foundation, announced Saturday that the official dedication for the King Memorial in Washington, D.C. is going to be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, according to CNN.

The dedication was previously scheduled in August but was postponed due to Hurricane Irene.

The new date is accommodating for President Barrack Obama who is scheduled to speak at the event.
