Jets V. Giants (40207)

The days of the Jets controlling their own destiny are over. Hoping to secure a playoff berth for the third straight season, the Jets couldn’t overcome themselves in a mistake-filled, 29-14, loss to the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

A fumbled snap, no deep passing game, a non-existent running game, a safety, several ill-timed penalties and downright bad football put the Jets on the brink.

The Jets and Giants were exchanging verbal jabs all week, from Hakeem Nicks saying Darrelle Revis a “decent” cornerback to Santonio Holmes calling the Giants “poor” tacklers, it was a fun-filled week.

The game was a little less fun or exciting as both teams were plagued by bad offense, bad penalties and bad turnovers. Incredibly, the Jets (8-7) will live to fight at least one more day. Even with playoff contenders, Oakland, Cincinnati and Tennessee all winning, the Jets could still sneak into the playoffs as the final wild card team.

But it won’t be easy as Rex Ryan travels to Miami to take on what should be an inspired Dolphins team.

The Giants move to 8-7 and a chance to secure their playoff hopes. They host the Cowboys in a winner-take-all game next Sunday.
