A number of records fell at the Hispanic Games, presented by the Navy.
On the boys side, Ronald Darby from Potomac, Va., set meet records (6.28 in the 55-meter dash) in a field of 246 participants and in the 200-meter (21.28). Nationally ranked Strymar Livingston from the Bronx’s Christopher Columbus, on the heels of his Marine Corps record (1:52.94) 800-meter run, cruised to a 1:55.09 run at the Hispanic Games, which were held at the Armory.
The Suitland High School 4×200 team (Maryland) sped to a 1:27.79, with leadoff man Ryan Allen setting up Jordan Coleman, Tavon Jacobs and his anchor running brother Levern Jacobs for a first-place win. Colin Frost from Randolph, N.J., whipped a field of some 476 runners as he won the mile in 4:29.13.
Meanwhile, Ajee Wilson from Neptune, N.J., won the girls mile (4:53.35). The 3,000-meter was won by Aisling Cuffee (Cornwall), recording a 9:44.03. Sandre Fargiharson from Medgar Evers (54.55) took the 400-meter.
Myasia Jacobs (Paramus Catholic) breezed to a 6.85 win in the 55-meter. Lateisha Philson (Benjamin Cardozo) ran a record 7.90 in the 55-meter hurdles, while Taft High School’s Kim Bailey dashed to a 24.81 victory in the 200-meter. Claudia Francis (Cardozo) took the 800-meter in 2:10. Kimberly Campbell, Nycenka Joseph, Sheniece Daphiness and Sandrea Farquharson teamed up in the 4×2 and sped to a 1:41.94 win.
