'Red Tails' movie on black airmen is screening at the white house (40105)

Tonight, The white house will bring legacy to America’s first black military aviators.

President Obama and the First lady will be hosting Tuskegee Airmen and the crew members of the movie “Red Tails”, which portrays these legendary African American fighter who fought during the World War II.

These Airmen succeeded despite the segregation that was effective in the U.S military and which was against African-American being in the planes.

The producer, Georges Lucas and creator of “Star wars” thought it was important to honor these heroes.

The movie cast is mostly African American, with many rising actors and Terrence Howard in the role of one of the main characters.
