Ano Okera, a Harlem-based performer and playwright, has launched The Beaute Book: Expert Answers for Everywoman, a new online beauty and fashion magazine that’s filled with expert advice for every woman.

Okera moved to Harlem while transitioning from full-time performer to writer. As a performer, the worlds of beauty and fashion influenced how he perceived life.

Born in Jamaica, he was raised by dynamic and powerful women who instilled an innate sense of beauty in him and his siblings.

Some of his film and TV credits include frequent appearances on the NBC series “30 Rock,” working with Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan. In the series, Okera played Morgan’s go-to reporter.

He also performed stints in “When Truth Lies,” played the role of Angel in the Broadway hit musical “Rent” and had a recording deal with Columbia Records, performing throughout the world. The recipient of the Christina Kukucka Playwriting Scholarship, Okera is delighted to present his first production, an experimental jazz musical called “Finding Harlem,” and a book of poetry entitled “Conversations from New Harlem” this year.

His two-part marketing program for the magazine includes travel tips and hotels for folks who want entertainment and information while traveling. In The Beaute Book, the beauty of Harlem is showcased. It also offers cutting-edge fashion and beauty tips for women of every age.

Okera, also founder and editor-in-chief of Trendz for Men, has spent the last two years changing his career. As a contributing editor for John Smith Daily and Haute Diary, he was involved in executing seasonal concepts with various brands and developed an interest for the beauty and menswear industries. While honing his skills at those online publications, he was encouraged to execute the magazine concept of The Beaute Book.

His goal for this online magazine is to add value to the daily beautification process and help women find answers to their beauty questions from the finest beauty experts in the industry.
