The New York City Housing Authority’s Martin Luther Jr. Towers were the latest recipients of work from the Citi-Habitat volunteers, who spent a bunch of hours at the “Brush With Kindness” event in East Harlem.

Former New York Mets legends Mookie Wilson and Ron Darling put on their work clothes and pitched in to help spruce up the MLK Towers alongside Citi and Habitat volunteers, who worked hand in hand with Wilson and Darling. Citi’s Bill Borden, NYCHA Commissioner John Rhea, Mr. Met and other NYCA representatives also chipped in to lend a hand to “Brush With Kindness,” the Mets-Citi Habitat-NYC neighborhood revitalization project, which is aimed at communities citywide.

Habitat-NYC volunteer Anthony Collins was honored by Citi and the Mets with the Teammates in the Community Award at Citi Field.

The highlight of the event was painting and sprucing up a mural at the King Towers Community Center before painting a mural at the King Towers Community Center.
