The 2012 Olympics fall under the holy month of Ramadan that is celebrated by Muslims who must not eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset. Approximately 3,000 athletes competing are still going to observe Ramadan.
Luckily for those observing Ramadan, special arrangements have been made in London to accommodate the Muslim athletes who are choosing to fast. This includes predawn meals as well as preparation of the first meal after sunset at all venues during the competition.
