OK. First of all, I’m hearing that the condom receipt that initiated Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson’s arrest for domestic violence was actually Evelyn Lozada’s receipt. I’m just telling you what I was told. Meanwhile, sources say Lozada moved out of their home while Johnson was in jail. “Evelyn is no longer at the home she shared with Ocho,” a source tells Hollywoodlife.com. “It’s an unfortunate situation.”
Lastly, this dustup doesn’t come as a surprise to those close to the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant and “Basketball Wives” star. A source told the Chicago Sun-Times: “They have been battling before they got married.” The source also thinks that head-butt of Johnson’s probably was more of an accident than an intentional move to injure Lozada.
The House Republicans’ filing of a lawsuit against Eric Holder on Aug. 13 didn’t stop the attorney general from getting his movie on later the same night. Holder attended a private screening of “Sparkle” at the Island Theater in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard. According to sources, he was joined by fellow Obama cabinet member Valerie Jarrett as well as Gayle King, Chris Tucker, Henry Louis Gates, Charlayne Hunter-Gault and others. An after-party followed at Hooked.
The Empress of R&B, Natasha C. Coward, will be performing in the final summer shows on Saturday, Aug. 18 of “Mama I Want to Sing,” in which she will play Sister Carrie, and “Sing Harlem Sing,” in which she turns in a fabulous rendition of “I’m Every Woman.” Coward halted all of Lenox Avenue in Harlem when she closed out Sylvia’s Jubilee Community Breakfast with the up-tempo hit written by the late Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson and most recently sung by the late Whitney Houston. “Sing Harlem Sing” will be performed at 1 p.m. and fans can see “Mama I Want to Sing” at 4:30 p.m. Both shows will be performed at the Dempsey Theater, 127 W. 127th St. in Harlem. Call 212-280-1045 for tickets. The fall season begins Saturday, Oct. 6.
Speaking of hot times in the Harlem summertime, themed “Harlem: Where the World Meets the World,” this year’s Harlem Week events celebrate Harlem’s global presence and international legacy while honoring the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence; the 100th anniversaries of South Africa’s African National Congress and Japan’s Sakura Festival, plus much more. Harlem Week 2012, New York City’s largest outdoor festival, celebrates the famed neighborhood with a spectacular lineup of activities and events. This includes musical salutes to Harry Belafonte, the late Bob Marley, “Soul Train” and its creator, Don Cornelius; a Walk-a-Thon for peace; the New York City Children’s Festival; an international auto show and much more.
The Michael Jackson estate wants to pay for a portion of Janet Jackson’s mortgage on her posh condo in Las Vegas. Sources tell TMZ that Katherine Jackson has spent time at the condo and the estate is willing to pay a share of the mortgage based on how much Katherine uses Janet’s Vegas digs. Meanwhile, Tanay Jackson, the wannabe singer alleged to be the daughter of Tito who made statements that Katherine is “too old” to be raising Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson, is only an alleged Jackson. My sources say she and Tito took DNA tests and, as Maury Povich would say, “Tito is NOT the father.”
