The New York Amsterdam News and Bill Lynch Associates are making preparations to present the second “Tying Communities Together Labor Awards Breakfast: A Celebration of New York’s Labor Movement.”

The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 20, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Alhambra Ballroom, located at 2116 Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard in Harlem.

This year’s honorees are George Gresham, 1199 SEIU president; Lillian Roberts, DC 37 executive director; and Hazel Dukes, New York NAACP chapter president.

The New York Amsterdam News has been serving the Black community in New York City since 1909 and has a rich history of staunch support for the city’s labor movement, from workers to union presidents. This event not only upholds that legacy, but also acknowledges and pays tribute to the bond that the Black press has always held with the working classes.

Bill Lynch founded the lobbying and consulting firm Bill Lynch Associates LLC (BLA) in 1999 after decades of political experience in New York and around the world. The diverse BLA team has longstanding relationships with elected officials and government agencies at all levels. BLA draws upon these relationships to help clients communicate their message to people in government and other principals. BLA also manages and consults on political campaigns, and has worked on campaigns at all levels of government.
