Youth at Harlem’s First Corinthian Baptist Church celebrated the launch of Dream Center Harlem. Several teens and pre-teens, designated “visionaries,” are a part of the program that focuses on leadership development and economic empowerment. The summer attendees in the program went on field trips, discussed their futures and received motivational support under the leadership of Pastors Michael Warlord and Troy Liferidge.
On Monday, students attended a panel discussion at the church that highlighted the entertainment business and media. Panelists included Nayaba Arinde and Cyril Josh Barker from the Amsterdam News; Ray Chew, former music director for the Apollo Theater and current music director for “American Idol’; and Michael Feeney of the Daily News.
