As part of its annual New Renaissance weekend events celebrating the heroes of 9/11 and the beginning of the 2012-2013 citywide youth academic calendar, the Fun*da*men*TOOLS Foundation will team up with the NBA and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to host its annual Everything-FREE day of celebration for youth and families of New York.
The event, held on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will consist of a marquee three-on-three youth basketball tournament, health screenings, the Global Homage to Hip-Hop Dance Competition, a kids runway fashion show, art competition, live performances and surprise celebrity guest appearances.
TOOL Shed Academy will set up an NBA player-run fitness and basketball-skill interactive lounge, where kids of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the unique, fun and informative instruction created by the organization.
The event will take place at St. Nicholas Park, located at St. Nicholas Terrace between West 128th and 130th streets.
