For this fall’s collection, BCBGMAXAZRIA was inspired by the beautiful history inlaid within the architecture of Istanbul and the eclectic style of the Gypsies of southern Europe. Their looks flow gracefully down the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runways at Lincoln Center in contrast to the artwork of contemporary artist Phil Frost.
A palette of rich blues, burgundies and soft neutrals is anchored by black, while white adds a clean, modern touch to offset the dark tones of the collection. There are plenty of easy shift dresses and tunics that are layered with loose pants, sweaters and oversized jackets for a decided emphasis on sportswear. The relaxed silhouette is offset by thigh-high leather boots, providing just the right amount of feminine appeal. The print-on-print details and the layered looks bring you back to the 1970s in style.
BCBGMAZRIA was founded in 1989 by designer, Chairman and CEO Max Azria. In 1991, Azria’s wife and muse, Lubov, joined the company as creative director. The collection theme is inspired by the French phrase, “bon chic, bon genre.” It’s a Parisian saying meaning, “good style, good attitude.” The brand embodies a true combination of European sophistication and American spirit.
With critically acclaimed collections, a loyal following of Hollywood’s celebrities and a strong worldwide presence, this design house has become one of the top names in the fashion industry today. Continuously reinforcing its position in the market, each season BCBGMAXAZRIA creates a highly sophisticated advertising campaign with world-renowned photographers, stylists and models. Additionally, celebrities such as Rihanna, Dakota Fanning, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have all deemed this designer a must-have in their wardrobes.
Striving to consistently evolve their vision, the designers have built upon the success of their women’s ready-to-wear lines and expanded their offerings to include a more exclusive collection. The collection is showcased in in-store shops in top department stores across the globe.
