Every year in Washington DC the Annual “Keep the Promise on HIV/AIDS” March & Rally brings together HIV/AIDS activists to call on national and world leaders to create “universal access to AIDS care and treatment,” according to the groups website.

Created by The AIDS HealthCare foundation (AHF), “Keep The Promise” is now bringing the March to brooklyn Brooklyn on April 6. HIV/AIDS Advocates from the northeast, including Reverend Al Sharpton, are expected to buss to Brooklyn to support the march.

These advocates are pushing for increased funding for HIV/AIDS prevention and care, affordable housing for people living with HIV/AIDS, lower prices set by pharmaceutical companies for drugs that those infected need to stay alive. SO the purpose of the marches is to unite local and national advocates.

The upcoming march is at Cadman Plaza Park on April 6th at 12:00 noon.

The musical guest joining Reverend Sharpton are DJ Lina, rapper Cassidy, Bridget kelly, Miri Ben-Ari and The Rude Mechanical Orchestra who perform for the crowd before the march begins.
