Earth day celebrated in Newark (39559)

On Monday, April 22, Mayor Cory A. Booker, the Newark Municipal Council, Department of Neighborhood and Recreational Services Director Tharien Karim Arnold, Fire Director Fateen A. Ziyad, the Newark Public Schools, the Greater Newark Conservancy and 65 Bragaw Avenue School students observed Earth Day at Bragaw Avenue School by planting flowers and cleaning the block on Bragaw Avenue between Wainwright and Leslie streets. The school is located at 103 Bragaw Ave. in the city’s South Ward.

Newark public school students and teachers cleaned the block and other sites around the city between 9 a.m. and noon.
